Recently, ZHGAS officially signed an agreement with Shanghai Heavy Industries Investment Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of East Hope Group, to undertake the construction of a large-scale coal gasification plant project located in West Kalimantan Province, Indonesia. This project signifies a major breakthrough for ZHGAS in overseas markets and the field of large-scale coal gasification facilities, with its single gasifier boasting a capacity of 90,000 Nm3/h, setting a new historical construction record for the company.
The coal gasification plant project signed this time is an integrated energy project supporting East Hope Group's alumina industry chain. The project includes two 90,000 Nm3/h circulating fluidized bed (CFB) gasifiers and auxiliary facilities, which, once completed, will provide a stable fuel supply for the alumina calcination furnaces.
It is noteworthy that this marks the fourth collaboration between ZHGAS and East Hope Group. From early technical exchanges to the current large-scale overseas strategic deployment, both parties have established a deep cooperative relationship. The newly signed project is another milestone in their energy cooperation in countries along the "Belt and Road" Initiative, signaling a new height in their strategic synergy in the coal gasification sector, and showcasing ZHGAS's leading position and strong project execution capabilities in coal gasification technology.
The project adopts Zhonghe Gasification's CGAS Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) coal gasification technology. This technology boasts advantages such as economic viability, significant energy savings, and environmental friendliness, enabling the efficient and clean conversion of coal resources, which aligns with the global trend of green development.
The technology has successively been included in national directories such as the Recommended List of Energy-Saving and Carbon-Reduction Technologies and Equipment in the Industrial and Information Technology Sector, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's First Batch of Advanced and Applicable Technologies, the National Ecological Environment Science and Technology Achievements Transformation Comprehensive Service Platform, Advanced Applicable Technologies for "Zero-Waste City" Construction (Ministry of Ecology and Environment), and Anhui Province's "Five One Hundreds" Advanced Technologies for Energy Saving and Environmental Protection. It is recognized and supported by the country as a clean and efficient coal utilization technology.
This signing is not only a continuation of the bilateral business cooperation but also a typical example of Chinese coal gasification technology 'going global'. As the East Hope project in Indonesia progresses, Zhonghe Gasification will continue to leverage its technological advantages, further expand its overseas market presence, facilitate the implementation of more coal gasification projects, and offer more competitive solutions for global energy and chemical Chinese projects.
