The 2025 China Nitrogen Fertilizer and Methanol Technology Conference, hosted by the China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association, was held in Fuyang City, Anhui Province from July 3-4, 2025. Representatives from over 200 companies in the national nitrogen fertilizer industry attended the conference. ZHGAS was invited to participate, with Niu Lipeng, Deputy General Manager of its Coal Chemical Division, delivering a special report titled "CGAS Circulating Fluidized Bed Coal/Biomass/Carbon-based Solid Waste Gasification and Combustion Technology Solutions and Engineering Applications." The report focused on the industry's demand for green transformation, fully showcasing the company's technological achievements and practical experience in the clean utilization of coal, biomass, and carbon-based solid waste.
Niu Lipeng elaborated on the key breakthroughs, technical advantages, and industrial application achievements of CGAS technology. Focusing on the application characteristics of CGAS technology, he shared ZHGAS's industrial exploration in areas such as coal gasification and biomass gasification. He also showcased the successful industrial application of CGAS technology in fields such as coal-to-syngas and industrial gas production, citing high-quality project achievements from Xinjiang Yihua, Indonesia XiangSheng, Inner Mongolia Qinghua, and Gansu Yingguang.
CGAS technology has also achieved significant breakthroughs in biomass energy conversion. The R&D team has completed studies on the gasification characteristics of dozens of typical biomass types using pilot-scale facilities and established a biomass gasification characteristics database. Based on this database, it has currently initiated two biomass-to-green-methanol projects and one biomass gasification-to-green fuel gas project. This technology provides a new pathway for the resource utilization of agricultural and forestry waste.
Addressing the issue of gasification ash and slag generated by entrained flow and fluidized bed coal gasification units, he shared insights into fine slag preheating gasification technology and fine slag residual carbon combustion technology. These technologies utilize gasification fine slag with high carbon content to produce syngas or high-temperature, high-pressure steam, effectively achieving clean and efficient cascaded utilization of coal. This not only enhances the overall energy utilization efficiency and economic benefits of the coal gasification system but also creates significant environmental and social benefits. Currently, ZHGAS's first entrained flow gasifier ash and slag disposal project, the Xinjiang Tianye Carbon-based Solid Waste Resource Utilization and Waste Heat & Pressure Recovery Project, and its first fine slag residual carbon combustion disposal project, the Linzhou Fengbao Residual Carbon Combustion Disposal Project, are both operational.
During the conference's networking session, ZHGAS's booth became a focal point for many industry professionals. Technical experts and company representatives from various enterprises converged there, engaging in in-depth and detailed discussions and exchanges on key technical issues such as the operational optimization of coal gasification systems and the effective control of biomass tar.
Since its establishment, ZHGAS has consistently prioritized technological innovation, closely aligning with industry development needs. Through technology integration, system optimization, engineering development, and market promotion, it has facilitated the transformation of scientific research achievements into practical productivity. In the future, it will continue to provide clean energy solutions for businesses through technological innovation, and work together with industry peers to build a new green energy ecosystem.
